19th Cent. Cannery Masonry Rehabilitation - NPS Training Center, Frederick, MD
The National Park Service maintains a restoration training facility in Frederick Maryland. Situated within a 19th century cannery, the facility houses woodworking and other equipment used to maintain historic structures on NPS properties.
CSI was contracted to clean, repoint, and preserve the exterior of the complex of brick buildings in 2012. Paint was removed, joints were selectively repointed, the foundation stone work was rebuilt and a new stucco applied where specified by NPS. Work was completed on time and in budget to the required standards.
